Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Ghosting!

Got up sharp this morning and we headed across to Saughton Winter Gardens. The Inch nursery(Edinburgh council parks dept) were having a plant and bulb sale. I picked up several sets of bulbs although I felt some were rather small so may not do much this year. I'll get them planted over the next few days hopefully, it's all a bit hectic till Wednesday though. I think that's the first day that my diary hasn't been filled by somebody else's schedule.
We had a coffee and bacon roll with Sandy, Colin's cousin after we'd made our selection.
I dropped Colin at home afterwards and went down to pick up Isobel from school. They were all in fancy dress for Hallowe'en - it's not actually till Monday but probably better marked today, uh because its Friday and also a lunchtime finish.
Isobel did a quick change of costime in the car and we headed off to her dancing class. The picture is of her outside looking in on the close before. Her hair is wonderful, so strong and thick. I didn't have hair like that when I was six (I never had hair like that) I did have it long but it was very fine and so always liked target straggly. She's coloured her hair with hair chalks - another new thing to me.
While she was at her dance class I went to an Indian cafe Katy had told me about. I ordered a pot of masala chai and it took me straight to Kovalam when it arrived in a stainless steel pot which didn't pour properly! The place is on Ferry Road and called Sabzi, they do food as well as coffees etc. Really friendly people and proper chai - I had two pots, the best I've had outside India. The owners are lovely too we chatted for ages about India Askrigg they're actually from Dundee. The decor is great, vibrant pinks, purples and oranges, very Indian. (extra) one wall is filled with Bollywood film posters.
After dropping A Isobel at home, I got home to find Ali there. We're trying to get the garage cleared ready for the painters coming on Monday and Ali was helping by getting rid of some of her stuff. We're really pleased by the final result, good to go, just a few more bits of garden to get tied up and out of the way.
I've the AGM for Cursillo on Perth tomorrow, at which I stand down. I had paperwork to finish off for that and also the prayers to write for Sunday's service, we're celebrating All Saints a couple of days early but never mind. Got that done too so I can focus on tomorrow now.

Last Friday of the month, so here's the Scottish National Gallery's Art Quiz. It's number 100, full marks for me today how about you?
