Brackets
We’ve been to Longshaw today to look at an area of woodland that was formerly a plantation but where thinning has taken place to try to develop woodland pasture. A lot of dead wood has been left and there were many stumps, so unsurprisingly, there were plenty of bracket fungi and jellies. I’m not especially good at identifying brackets, but I really enjoyed finding some colourful and interesting specimens. I always think that blue is a magical colour for fungi, and this Postia caesia (Conifer Blueing Bracket) is a real beauty. Another colourful bracket in extras.
