Wimereux
Time to pack up and leave the little house we have been staying in the last few days. Mr C and I walked down to the front to deposit our recycling in the bins there and have a last blast of vitamin D on our faces.
We had to wait for the lady to come and check us out but she seemed very happy as soon as she arrived so off we went. We slowly meandered along the coastal road towards Calais and I requested to stop in Wimereux to try and grab some pictures for blipper Hazelh for her LornaLPodcast journal. I have to say we were all delighted at this little stop of what appeared to be a lovely little town. J said please thank your fellow blipper as we would probably not have stopped here. It’s amazing the things you find out or do for this great site :-D
We walked along the front and decided to stop at a restaurant for lunch… another great find. S declaring it as probably the best all week. We had to rush a little at the end to get back to the car as our free parking was about to finish.
We picked up an earlier tunnel crossing back and, after dropping S & J home, we arrived home about 6pm.
We have had a lovely few days away and were incredibly lucky with the weather. We found it all quite quiet and not a great deal open and many of the people said they didn’t speak English. Now, of course, when you are in another’s country you shouldn’t expect them to speak English but I’m sure on our previous visits the language barrier wasn’t quite so tough. However, between us and our pigeon French we managed to get by :-)
