Time well spent

Alice went with her Mum to the Spa at the North Lakes Hotel - a celebration of the fact that at 16 she was allowed to go to a Spa. They seemed to have a great time - swimming, sauna, relaxation and afternoon tea - a bit of valuable mother and daughter time.

We went with Maisie and Ella for lunch at Rheged (the blip is at the 40 Farms Photographic Exhibition). Then we braved the half term crowds in Keswick to get Maisie a pair of walking boots as she’s doing the Duke of Edinburgh Award at school. Very expensive but that’s what grandads are for! When we got back Grandad and Maisie went hill climbing to try the boots out - she loves them. Ella and I had a quiet time stitching.

Lots more happened and still is - three are watching football on Grandad’s computer - Carlisle of course. Three of us have opted out and are playing games in the quiet. We’ve had a Zoom call with Joanne in Cornwall and . . . now a game of Scrabble seems to be starting . . .

Eventually they may go to bed . . . and we will too!
