Wonderwood

After the Farmers Market, we sat with our coffee on a bench nearby which turned out to be the staging area for a neighborhood cleanup where we saw and talked to residents very involved in cleaning up and finding ways for all of us to pickup, discard, and recycle. Immpressive.
Someone was handing out free tickets to Wonderwood, "a delightful and humorous immersive adventure into the troubled town of Maplehold, within the magical world of Wonderwood. Guests play the role of heroic adventurerin a world of that will come alive with vibrant environments, expressive characters, and vivid lighting." So we headed for the former bank building that has been transformed into a place like a haunted house where you walk through and - have an adventure. If I understand, Wonderwood is a pop-up event, and the very busy coffeeshop next door, also called Wonderwood, is also a pop-up. 
Maybe some of the owners of the many empty commercial spaces are getting creative with short-term leases. It's easy enough to think they ought to simply lower the rent, but the economy is a baffling, baffling big old thing that rules our lives. Maybe Wonderwood should do up that empty bank with economic, community, and political graphics that would really take us on an adventure. Too scary, and too confusing I guess.
