Creeping through the marsh
At North Barriere Lake in British Columbia I saw several spiders close to the water. They move quickly and stay in one spot barely long enough for a photo, if you can manage to be a bit quicker than the spider. The spiders surprised me with their ability to run out onto the water. The only way to capture a photo was to get down to their level and creep through a swampy area on my knees and elbows. I got wet but fortunately it was a hot day. Later I found a much easier way to photograph these elusive spiders. Several were sunning themselves on a boulder and I just had to wait until one came into camera range. As you can see, they are masters of camoflage.
