The Winged Scavengers: Batman & Robin
What a beautiful & sunny day we had today! These two were enjoying the views.
Jenny, her Mum & me took an expedition to the seaside resort of Brighton today. It's only a matter of miles down the road from us, but it was Mummy C's first visit there, so we wanted to make it as special as we could..
I don't think we disappointed. We had a hoot. I've never seen Brighton so packed! We discovered en route that the month long Brighton Festival had begun yesterday & that today, not only was it a bank holiday, & overwhelmingly & incredibly sunny & hot, but there was a vintage car (ambulances, fire enginges, AA vans, postal cars, coaches, steam enginges, you name it) gathering on the seafront. Brighton is always bustling with life, but today was something else! It was rammo-kablamoed!
The Clock Tower has been wrapped in over 500 pieces of clothing as part of the festival. It's quite a sight, but looks amazing. We then wandered all round the lanes, taking in all the sights & sounds the people & querky, interesting shops had to offer. We couldn't then wait any longer.. a cold beer & the sea front beckoned.
The front was a scene to take in. It was bustling with activity, the sea looked calm & blue & for as far as the eye could see, people crowded the beach & bars. We waded straight in - the heaving bar first & then f 'n' c on the b! We then took a stroll onto the pier where these two chaps, & the rest of their crowing & coniving cohorts, were living it large, seagull style.
That's the life.
We had a lovely day. We rounded it off with Three Men & a Little Lady (we had to really didn't we after yesterday's first installment!?). We're now all looking forward to a slightly lazier day tomorrow with a possible trip to the Ashdown Forest on the cards too.
