Heart of Neolithic Orkney

Today was an archaeology filled day. We caught the 10.30am ferry to Kirkwall and headed first to the Stones of Stenness and then along to the Ring of Brodgar, which is the main blip. After a lovely lunch at Finstown, we drove to Skara Brae (see extras) and had a good look around. There was then just enough time to drive back to Kirkwall and get into the ferry queue to sail back to Shapinsay.
