it's 5 star baby!!

start of my holidays, and it begins with a trip to London today.

first up, sunshine and blue sky is the perfect start. breakfast, packed, pete sorted and then taxi to pick Li up. train from Lanky Bill into Nottingham, and then first class lounge ready for the train to St Pancras.

a bottle of Moet for the journey! perfect start to our weekend!

into the beautiful St Pancras station, and we check in at our v posh hotel. and it's amazing!! Li spots Hugo from some Chelsea programme. i spot the Southampton footy team having just checked in....not a bad stay over for a premier league footy player!

we venture outside, as i want to take a picture of the building, designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott. took this picture, from the corner of the street opposite. hustle and bustle of a busy London road in Camden on a Friday afternoon, whilst sipping a glass or two of rose with Li. lovely and warm, felt like summer had arrived!

back to the hotel, and a little doze before we have our meal (thanks to Mr Picks recommendation!) at the Gilbert Scott restaurant (Marcus Wareing is head chef....love him!). delicious meal...li has pigeon in a pudding, and i have soles in coffins. i also have a wedge of banana bread and butter pudding with rum ice cream.....wowser!!

early to bed, with a G&t for me, and a cosmo for Li. early start tomorrow, fabulous day today and the view from my bed is St Pancras platform, and the huge 'dent' clock....comfiest bed too....could this be more perfect!
