Hawthorn Shield Bug ( Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale )
At least that is what I think it is. If I am correct it is one of the common UK Shield Bugs. Which I find very interesting as I have never seen one before, lots of Green SHield Bugs but not this one.
We were having some of the Marquee lights PAT tested. (OK pedant I know the T stands for testing but to say we were having the light pat or even pated doesn't really make sense). When the man doing them said "Oh there's a Shield Bug". Obviously, I had to take a shot. Working on the self imposed rule that the less likely a blip is to be repeatable, then that is the one you use, the bug had to be the blip.
