No walking today, the group has dispersed and we are left, having booked a week away.  So rather than walk we decided on a bike ride from Ashbourne, along the traffic free Tissington Trail.   The trail used to be a railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton until its closure in the early 1970's when the National Park bought the line and turned it into a 13 mile trail for walkers and cyclists.  It now runs from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay. Cycling from Ashbourne the route has a gentle but definite incline, which on rickety old machines made it less than easy going. A thoroughly enjoyable day out in glorious sunshine.
