Andy's Clock
We met up with CyclopsJnr's Cousin twice removed for a coffee/some late breakfast today after bumping into her by surprise on Saturday. It was lovely to catch up, and CyclopsJnr was keen to show her his pictures on his camera.
The main event of the day was... Museums!
First the Natural History Museum where we enjoyed learning about the planet, experiencing a earthquake (simulated), seeing lots of fossils and dinosaur skeletons and such like.
A highlight was finding Andy's clock - CyclopsJnr knew exactly where to look for it too. While he's not watched it for a while, Andy's Dinosaur Adventures used to be a real favourite (as documented on blip here, here, here, and here)
We took a quick walk up to the Royal Albert Hall which CyclopsJnr has seen on TV many times and wanted to see for real, then went to the Science Museum. We enjoyed a "build your own rugged space rover" game, and echo tube experiment, seeing some of Stephen Hawkings things, and generally browsing.
Both museums were enjoyable and had their highlights, but it also helped us appreciate just how good, well organised and child friendly the National Museum of Scotland and Museum of Flight and the like near us really are!
We went to a small Italian near our hotel for dinner as by that time everyone was thoroughly tired out!
