Urquhart Castle
This morning MrsCyclops procured deluxe hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream for herself and CyclopsJnr, which they enjoyed as we set off down Loch Ness. It was overcast with a wee bit of drizzle, so the views were atmospheric rather than spectacular.
We had lunch en route with a plan to land at Urquhart Castle. We were pretty disappointed to discover the jetty was closed, so we had to berth in Urquhart Harbour and cycle 5km through Drumnadrochit to get to the castle. We had a wee look around (enjoying the prison and trebuchet) before heading back to the boat via a traditional sweet shop.
We then cruised the remaining part of Loch Ness, through Loch Dochfour and back through Dochgarroch Loch before stopping for the night. Much yahtzee and hangman was played during the long voyage down Loch Ness!
We had a family game of Carcassonne before dinner and settling down for our last night on board.
