Apple butter

Our parents’ apple trees have produced a bumper crop this year. Last time we were there we picked most of them and came home with a boot load.

It’s been pies, cakes, muffins for weeks. Decided to try making apple butter today. Strangely there’s no actual butter involved. It was easy to make and damn tasty. Not too sweet, lots of festive spices and very tangy. Got a few jars to share around friends and family. Also trying freezing some so we should be set for a few months anyway.
