The Blur!
Highlights from today?….setting up a hedgehog home and walking Scout along the river up from Burnsall towards Appletreewick. The autumn coloured leaves were just beautiful and seeing her run at her own pace and be normal did me good.
Today was just a down day for me.
So….for those of you who are wondering…
as of September 16th we are all in our rightful countries!
Mom and I have spent the month running from one hospital appointment to another with me trying to chase them to do what they said or to give us information along with trying to get some care support for mom. We are starting to get there. (In amongst her boiler breaking down!).
As it stands at the moment they are not going to operate and expect the tumour to shrink when the blood from the bleed disperses. They will re scan in 6 months time. She is doing ok ish just has no energy for anything.
Doug is absolutely fine now.
The fight with insurance still goes on but has now been handed to Ella in preparation for it going to a solicitor.
I survived being at work for two weeks (it was lovely to be back in front of the kids) but the stress of everything was taking it’s toll so I asked the doc to sign me off.
And last week when Scout was in for her annual boosters and checkup the vet heard a heart murmur and said it should get checked out…so it was and it turns out that she has a valve that’s not working properly. She has started heart meds and I have a handy app to help monitor her breathing rate but I haven’t had a full report yet and I don’t know what it all means and I’m just panicking about my precious girl.
And I’m exhausted!
So….things still aren’t great.
This weekend has been Cathie’s swim suit sewing thing and Amanda, the teacher, has been staying with us. She is very nice.
Today I finally managed to make myself move (I couldn’t decide what to do for the best) and got Scout and myself down to the river just as they were finishing their swim. We carried non walking along the river with such beautiful autumn colors. That walk did me a lot of good. We then went back to the village hall to discover that Cathie had invited two others on the course (who hadn’t had a great day either) for fish n chips.
That was really nice to have three new people for dinner.
I then dropped them off at Morrisons to meet their host and carried in to mim’s to walk Jodie.
It had started raining so our walk wasn’t too long. I sat for a bit with mom then packed her off to bed and went home.
Amanda was upstairs which gave Cathie and I a little chance to catch up.
I just cried!
Amanda came down for a drink and we all went into the living room and watched ‘Have I got news for you’ and had a good laugh at it.
So…going to bed now feeling far more settled.
