Funicular, Santander

A relaxing day in this fine coastal city. It felt a little bit like being back on the Camino, the lady in the Cathedral waved me in without charge assuming I was a pilgrim. I’m still wearing my wolf watching clothes.
Later, after a decent breakfast with large quantities if Iberian ham, I walked along part of the Camino del Norte, gorgeous beaches not all of which are accessible without going inland and then back into the town.
I returned through the backstreets and stumbled on the funicular del Rio de la Pila. Superb views from the top, the escalators leading to it were great fun too. It runs from 6 in the morning to midnight and is completely free.
