Robert Burns has recently been seen sporting that most iconic of Scottish state accessories - the traffic cone. Those of you living south of the Border (or even outside the UK) might not be aware of the original cone-clad statue which is now an established part of Glasgow's identity.

A row erupted two years ago when Robert was subjected to the same treatment, with accusations of disrespect to our national bard, and one councillor commenting that "This is not Glasgow".

But it's a thing :-)
