Autumn

This is a collection of a few things I've picked up in my garden and on walks recently. This morning I did some repairs to the mortar on the top of my patio retaining wall, a poor job done by the landscapers in places. This afternoon I did more weeding - a slow job as there are just soooooo many of them that have grown in the last few weeks. Nice to get the towels washed and dried outside too. I also watched the news conference given by an unapologetic Prime Minister, I thought she looked and sounded beaten in the questions section. Let's see how good your memory is - can you name the 4 Chancellors we've had in the last 4 months?

Covid Update
The weekly ONS infection survey of private households up to w/e 3rd Oct showed UK cases rose 31% in the last week and are now 1.7m. There's been 'another notable rise' in infections among older age groups in England and Wales. There's an estimated 1 in 35 with the virus in England (up); 1 in 50 in Scotland (uncertain); 1 in 40 in Wales (up), and 1 in 40 in NI (longer trend is up). The number of people in hospital in England with the virus is up 10% from the previous week and looks to be slowing. Bookings are now open for over 50's for their autumn Covid booster via the National Booking Service online or over the phone.
