Big Red

Another bright start to the day with the sun battling though the clouds. So I headed for South Queensferry before the bank holiday hoards flooded the place. I have been meaning to get down there to get some shots of the Forth rail bridge for a while but weather, tide and time have thwarted me until to day when all the omens looked good.

The bridge has been stripped of the huge white sheeting that hung form its girders during its last paint job and always looking as though it was about to sail off down the Forth.

I have to say Big Red looked magnificent it the sunshine its new coat of paint lighting up the seascape. I hope the new bridge will be equally handsome but somehow I doubt it.
