New Faces
A great thing about the huge 'Culture Complex' currently being built on the edge of downtown Gwangju, is that it will basically link our slightly dilapidated old neighbourhood up to the city centre.
As a result, quite a few long-empty buildings have become new businesses in the past months. An art gallery, design studio, a couple of coffe shops and a tiny clothes boutique have all opened their doors in the area.
Above is a very ugly old building that's lain derelict for as long as I've been here. In recent days though renovations have begun, a sign outside stating the unit will be up for rental soon.
The way things go in Korea, only a lunatic would bet against it eventually being Gwangju's ten thousandth coffee shop.
