Meet the Crooner at Trail's End

I believe I've settled upon a name for my home, my sanctuary at the end of Hidden Lake Trail: "Trail's End". And I'd like to introduce you to a member of the symphony that makes such beautiful music here in the Spring. He is a Gray Treefrog Hyla versicolor, with distinctive bright yellow markings hidden under the hind legs (couldn't get that clearly in view). More info Here courtesy Michigan DNR.

He was on a section of fencing i use to grade the gravel driveway, and I thought it was a was' nest at first until he winked at me! He obligingly showed us his amazing sticky pads by hanging upside down for a few minutes inside a clear plastic container. I then asked him if I could take his portrait, and he obligingly sat still on the hood of my car as I crept closer and closer. This shot was with the lens about 12 inches away, but with the 4 inch long lens hood it was amazing that he stayed still so long! I then transported him back to his tree and bid him good day.

As I was returning the camera into the house, I spied an equally awesome but completely different spectacle. Take a look at this heartwarming sight. Hard to choose which to blip...
