When I go round round baby

Wow what a day!

Tooli was late up - I knew this because I Heard her alarm go several times.

We got up about 10…. And endeavoured the Uber trial again!  Today was a success and we reached the Museum of Qatar in fifteen minutes.

From there we did our favourite thing - hop on hop off bus!  With free water…..

Doha is an amazing city so many sights so much happening in preparation for the World Cup and so many ancient sights.  It was brilliant.

We jumped off at the old City - right outside Harrods … hit the Uber app… and it couldn’t find us or find the school.

We sent tooli our location and she orders it…. And they couldn’t find us …. She tried again and they cancelled. Once more and they found us … she was giving him directions to us on the phone when we found him. Yay.

He dropped us at Tooli’s school and we had the joy of going in and meeting her and seeing her classroom and meeting one of her colleagues who was full Of praise for her.

From there ANOTHER uber … and off back to the Museum of Qatar.  Heavens you should google that. What a building. A d you work your way through it … coming out at the far end and it moves up and down and slopes and slants.  And loads of amazing historical and current displays of Qatar culture.

From there we went to the Souk where we started by eating at tooli’s favourite restaurant .. they welcomed her like an old Friend …

We sat on an upstairs terrace and looked down on a scene from Arabian nights … white square topped buildings. Hazy skies, men in throbes and gutras; women in Shayla and Abayhas.

After dinner we walked through the Souq… oh heavens.  The smells, the sounds,  the line of authority … we definitely had to stand back for the men.  It’s like a maze also… we couldn’t remember if we had walked past shops or not.

We did some bartering. tooli is a genius… Si is hopeless.  He is also hopeless knowing if Wants something or not.

Last stop for the night…. A dhow ride across the water.  Oh my. I had to keep having a seat; my legs were killing me; I was roasted . And exhausted

But we made it. And it was amazing.

The three of us on one dhow all lit with fairy lights it was just the perfect end to the day.

Heaven.
