Oh Deer!
Peeking out through the curtain this morning I caught sight of this roe deer in the field opposite. Never one to miss a blip opportunity or to look a gift horse (or in this case a deer) in the mouth I grabbed the camera.
Sidling out of the doors tip-toeing onto the balcony rather mouselike I balanced the lens on the railings to get a few shots recognising it to be the deer from the other week. Just look at her coat though, it's in a terrible state but mainly as far as I can see just this side and top. Two thoughts crossed my mind a) she was moulting, shedding her winter coat or b) she had mange. It's difficult to see from the zooming in what's going on - she may possibly have a good coat under there. I've seen mange on foxes but I've now been googling it for deer just to get a bit more detail - oh dear wish I hadn't now. Am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for her!
I do think we are a bit mad having the family round for lunch for a BBQ - I did say bring a jumper or two!! Of course we can't use the patio heater because of the robin nest inside!! Rugs will be provided and at least there is a heater in the breeze house.
I am trying to get back and thank everyone who fluttered my nightingale into the spotlight yesterday and for the very kind, very very kind comments, stars and hearts on my red balloon day! It goes without saying it wouldn't and couldn't all have been done without each and everyone of you in the world that is blip. I was so touched and actually felt a tad overwhelmed by it all! A MASSIVE thank you from me!! X
