My hairdresser has moved from the city to near Livingston, so after my appointment Mr Flum collected me and we went to McArthur Glen Outlet village for coffee and a wander round the shops.

I realised on our way home that I hadn't thought of a blip - what to do? I set the camera to 'burst' shortly before we would pass this arch, which once graced the entrance to Hatton House, at the time a mansion of great importance. 

It has not always been so pristine, a few years ago the clinging vegetation was removed and the stonework cleaned up, but it was not fully restored. It remains a reminder of the grandeur that Hatton House displayed and subsequent fate of the estate.
