Dainty
Once again we managed to get up to Perthshire in the hope of seeing autumn colours.
The day proved rather grey and overcast, with few well-developed colours although there were compensations. As we drove near Loch Leven a huge skein of geese flew over, counting the photo from the car I guess around 260.
In the Hermitage, the Black Linn Falls of Braan were running high, as we saw on our last visit, extra 1 looking down the fall towards the bridge with a good view of the narrow cut through which the river races. High on the left is Ossian's Hall of Mirrors, with closer view of the falls.
We managed to walk right up (up, being the operative word, it is a long drag) until the path ran across open ground, just half a mile from Rumbling Bridge but by then we were too tired to continue, following our vaccinations yesterday and poor sleep, so turned back, finding the (main photo) dainty fungi sitting helpfully on a log at eye level.
Once more at the 'Hall of Mirrors' we watched as salmon attempted their leap up the falls to spawn upriver, Extra 2 of the one I managed to 'catch'.
Our route home came through Crieff and a visit to Caithness Glass to admire the skills of the paperweight makers, without the inclination to purchase. By now the sun was breaking through the heavy cloud and our journey continued in better light.
Thanks to JDO for hosting Tiny Tuesday.
