Porlock and Tor

It has been a day of some sadness. We drove to my late brother in law’s house where he and his late wife moved to several years ago. We were meeting up with one of our nieces and her husband. So many memories came flooding back from one of our few visits there. The house is up Porlock Hill. This is reputed to be the steepest A road in the UK, reaching1 in 4 at some points.

Whatever the gradient is, the house is located with magnificent views looking over to Wales, the Severn Estuary and the Quantock hills. There were pheasants in the garden and a stag and a herd of does in the field at the bottom of the slope. An extra of the stag.

The blip is of some wood cyclamen looking over to the Mendips and Quantocks. The other extra is of Glastonbury Tor as we passed through.
