Last haul
I gathered a few things from the polytunnel. The last week has been full sun and warm. More unsettled weather on the way.
I took a turn in the woods. Stretching out my known universe until I fear I will be lost. I found a few chanterelles hidden in the leaf mold. But no porcini. Each day I feel I learn more about particular funghi, the trees and aspect that suits them, where a particular fungo might be found.
Later I sorted out the onions, shallot and garlic. It seems a poor harvest for all the effort but then it was a beast, if not a nightmare of a summer. Then I picked over the rather sad looking borlottis in the hope that the pods, if spread nicely, will dry so that we can add to our meagre collection of beans.
