Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Late lunch

JR has been suggesting for quite a while that the lawns need a final cut. I had to agree with her, and this morning I took a notion to do it. I couldn’t open the bedroom window, for some reason, and so had to find four extension cords to come from the kitchen to the lawn mower.

Archie went out with Elizabeth, JR went to the gym and then the supermarket, and went down to Dine for a late lunch. Actually, I could only get a 3pm time slot, but we found that to be a good time for lunch. Get plenty done in the morning, and no need for tea in the evening.

Actually, it was a freebie, I’d written to manager offering suggestions, but also complimenting him on the service and the food, and he’d thanked me for my feedback and offered a complimentary meal for two. Very kind of him.

The restaurant was buzzing when we arrived, and a new lot of folk were in when we left - it’s constantly busy. They’re certainly doing something right.

Back home just in time for Archie’s arrival.

We might just have decided on the next holiday destination…
