Northumberlandia

Well, it wasn't raining but it was rather windy! We went through the Tyne Tunnel and up the coast to St Mary's Lighthouse in Whitley Bay. We had a lovely walk across the causeway and up to the lighthouse and managed to see some seals swimming. We then drove back down through Whitley bay and found a nice cafe for a hot chocolate.
There was a "self-service" dog bath, so Jake got a bath but I was disappointed that he didn't operate it himself!
We continued up the coast to Blythe but when we got out for a walk the wind was very strong. Having looked at the map we decided to visit Northumberlandia, the lady of the North. It is a human landform sculpture of a reclining lady. You really need a drone to be able to photograph it properly but you can see her profile from this angle. Mum walked a short way to see it and then returned to the car. My sister and I walked up to the top of her forehead and the I climbed the hill of her right breast, the wind almost nocked me off!
We returned via a coastal drive of Whitley Bay to Tynemouth and then back to our house for a meal and another couple of games of chess and cards.
