Fly agaric

After seeing so many shots of this fungi recently, I was hoping to find one pretty soon…and today was that day.  We went to Yarrow Valley Park in an attempt to escape the rain we had at home and it worked. This was the best specimen I could find - looks like the slugs or squirrels have beaten me to it.  Hardly any birds around today apart from a few tits and a couple of vocal, but elusive goldcrests. 
Feeling fine now and it was great to get out again.
