Quit Honking Your Horn

In July a sign went up "Traffic Works Start here 5th August for 12 weeks" 

This is Week 9. 

This is the only entrance to and from our estate.   When they went up, there was a light change every 1 minute. 1 Minute for that road, 1 minute for ours, and 1 for the other road. The fourth road was closed off - (they have two exits/ entrances).

They did one part of the work and then reopened the fourth road.  Now - North and South bound traffic (not our estate) get 2 full minutes each.  Our street gets 1 minute if we are lucky, and the other street gets a minute also - but no one uses it, BECAUSE THEY HAVE ANOTHER EXIT. 

This has added at least 6 minutes to my journey.  Because there is another set of traffic lights after these ones, and they have switched off the filter lane while these works are in progress.   So every morning I wait for these to change and then get caught in a backlog of cars at the top of the hill and scream in frustration as only 4 cars get through at a time. 

I write every week to Road Alliance, and all our local councilors. 

They are putting up traffic lights to replace a roundabout that was built to replace the original traffic lights.   The only thing wrong with the roundabout was that it was too high, and the forest they had planted meant that no one could see what was coming from any direction. 

When they replaced the traffic lights the first time - they actually had to re-do the roundabout twice.  they had to remove some of the pavements (lorries on their way to the ferry couldn't navigate round it), and then they had to make the round about bigger, because Lorries were driving over the top of it. 

This is a massive source of stress for me EVERY Day.    

Today I was even more exceptionally pissed off, because both north and south bound just kept going til there were no more cars.  - There was a bloody workie standing letting all the north and south through, and only swapping it over when they were clear. 

I scream at all the workies, every day as I drive past them. Even though today they were all soaking and bent over horizontally.   I don't care. 

They are negatively impacting my life.
