Saving a Life
We went out to view a property in a local village today, something that has piqued our interest, though we aren't currently on the market for a new home. Afterwards we had a walk around the village and while walking down a quiet lane we came across this larva of the what Google images tells me is a Pale Tussock moth (Calliteara pudibunda). It was progressing right down the middle of the lane, just as the local postman was driving down. We picked it up and set it down on a low wall out of the way. Whether it will have much of an existence with the current weather forecast for the next few days is probably questionable. It is also very late in the season from what I've read, as they are usually flying around in May or June.
