A Man's Man

Although he's been with us some time we've had to let Scullion go.

Whilst he was cleaning my spats, Elsie was necking the port in the billiard room.  There'd been some explaining to do as apparently  she had stood on, and broken, the Colonel's best billiard cue.  She asked Scullion for advice and all he could offer was 'Don't forget there's only one 'g' in resignation'.

Things started going seriously wrong when Scullion sounded the dinner gong, in mid-afternoon with no-one else in the house.  Then a telegramme arrived.  Scullion signed for it.  He couldn't help himself and discretely looked at the message: 'DOROTHY STOP COME HOME IMMEDIATELY STOP THE ZEBRA HAS RUN OUT OF FOOD STOP'

Late in the evening he went and put a mint on Lady Sonia's pillow.  As he explained to Elsie, it was after eight.

He is an absolute bounder.  On hearing he'd been fired he put absinthe in the Brown Windsor.

The position will soon be advertised in 'The Lady'.
