Sally Mair - Loving life

Rowans

Not sure what has happened to the rowan berries, they don't usually fall like this. There's a good crop though and lots still on the tree.
The girls arrived at 8am this morning as their mum was off to do the half marathon at the Great North Run in Glasgow. She managed 1hour 53min for the 13. 1 miles having had no chance to train, I was really impressed.
I went to a different church this morning as our Rector was being collated there as priest in charge in addition to being with us. I'm curious as to how it will work out. Met some old friends so it was good to catch up and there was a delicious celebratory lunch.
Back home in time and Ali phoned to say she was coming over so that was nice, all the grandchildren together again, perfect! Our friends from the States phoned to say they had been bumped off their flight so could they come and have a night with us. We were delighted at the chance to have additional time with them. All in all it meant that we had a houseful this afternoon.
I knocked up a spaghetti carbonara, followed by a bramble and apple sponge, for dinner after the day visitors had gone. The wine and conversation flowed and the food soon disappeared!
My jet set life continues, off to Glasgow tomorrow to visit the Burrell with friends. I'll be going by the M9 and M90 I think, to avoid the roadworks on the M8. Not much difference when travelling from our part of town.
