Sandy toes

It must be so strange to experience sand for the first time. It's a strange texture, and there's no significant scent to it.

The outlaws are down (I know you're reading this Cliff, hello Grandad!) for the day, it was Noah's granny's birthday yesterday so it was an opportunity to see her and to generally have a catch up. They arrived at midday so this morning Noah and I had a nice play, it's been ages since we had time to just sit down and investigate some toys. His favourite toy at the moment is a computer mouse, anything with a cable is great. I gave him the mouse one day to stop him pulling at the network hard drive - fighting geekery with geekery!

They arrived, we had a lovely lunch, they had some cuddles and off we went to Ponty park for a walk. We got to the swings and Noah had a marvellous time swinging, Grandad was on pushing duty and Granny was smiling away watching the boy enjoy himself (which boy eh? The baby or the Grandad?).

I then placed him in the little sandy area of the park, knowing this was the first time for him to experience it. Every time we've been to the beach previously it's been cold or wet. Well, just like when he touched grass for the first time, he was a bit shocked. He ran his fingers through it, pulled them away. Picked some up and looked at it and watched it run through his fingers. He really wasn't sure at all. Even though it was a cold day (hence the hat) I decided to take his socks off for a short while just so he could feel it on his feet - amazment! I buried his feet and he thought it was wonderful, got all excited and started flapping :) I forsee epic sandcastles for this little man and his daddy in the future!

We got home in time for Oli to join us and off we went for a meal out. The dude was tired so we rushed home, bath and bed. I do like our little routine!
