Vapianos

Occasionally we eat at Vapianos at the Printworks in Manchester. The food is good, the atmosphere is nice enough, and the serving staff are always friendly. It's not special, but it's fine.

Post-Covid, they've stuck with the policy of ordering from your table using their app or website*.

This means that you pay when you order, which is fine, but one weird aspect of this is that they ask you at that point whether you'd like to add a gratuity. I mean, at that stage, you've been shown to your table, sure, but that's it. What am I adding a gratuity for?

*I say 'stuck with', maybe they did that way before, idk.
