The new dining table arrived on Monday and we celebrated that with a small gathering, this evening, in the form of my daughter, Hannah, and our good friend, Dom.

Despite the fuel shortage at the pumps - don't worry, folks! 'Boris' says it will all be fine by the weekend - there were plenty of cars out this evening, leading to this chaotic automotive ballet at the junction by the former premises of Salford Royal Hospital.

Happily, I was on foot and arrived home just a few minutes later for a lovely evening in delightful company and some splendid food prepared by the Minx.
