Scott's Back Side

Miserable day today, overcast and rainy on and off. I went up to the National portrait Gallery at lunchtime and took a few pictures in there (as if they hadn't got enough already). The Annie Lennox exhibition was mildly interesting, but I wandered off into the rain to Princes Street with the thought of going up the Scott Monument to see what I could see. The £4 entry fee guaranteed that I wouldn't go in so I mooched around the back of the monument for a while and ended up taking a few shots there. This is one of them. I'm not that thrilled with it, but maybe that was the mood of the day. The quality of the light was really poor today and the rain just meant that it wasn't comfortable outside looking for photographs. The forecast for tomorrow looks good, so fingers crossed!
