Coastal Geology

Near Wembury in South West Devon the low tide reveals some interesting rock beds along the shore. I know they are sedimentary rock, but that is about as far as my knowledge of geolology goes. The twice daily ebb and flow of the tides has smoothed the surface and creates patterns resulting from the layers in rock. Here the colours are quite subdued, but some have shades of green, purple, red and salmon pink. It's the sort of place where you could spend hours looking for a composition you like. This one appealed to me straight away, though I am not sure about the shadow created by the angle of the sun.
