Toronto Skyline
The sunny weather was set to stay for one more day so we went to the beach with Oona. The Lake Ontario beach here doesn't come up to the standard of the fab beaches we have at home on the NE coast of England but it was much better than I expected and Oona still loves it. What's more, from the beach there's a super view of the Toronto skyline - and of course I couldn't be here for long without blipping a photo of the iconic CN Tower. I remember first going up it in 1975 when I was a student, when the tower had just been open for 3 months and it was the tallest free-standing structure in the world (an honour which, of course, it lost to the Burj Khalifa in 2009).
The first extra is my attempt at being arty-farty, with an "impressionist" view of a paddleboarder on the lake - it's straight out of camera, being taken with a wide aperture and deliberate defocussing.
The second extra shows a cute little sparrow we saw taking a drink from a trough at the beach shack where we had lunch.
