A day trip to London that wasn’t
Caught the 9am train to Paddington from Bristol - two people in a 90 seat carriage. Was spending the day with a friend from uni days, who lives in SE London. This was a quick glimpse from the train of Battersea Power Station - which will be familiar to Pink Floyd fans, from the album cover of ‘Animals’. Having provided one fifth of Londons electricity since the 1930s, it’s been converted into flats for millionaires.
Having spent a lovely day eating, talking and walking I was back at Paddington in good time, only to find all trains were cancelled because of damage to lines, and I was stranded in London. Luckily was able to stay with another friend, in NE London. She even popped to Sainsburys to get me some food:)
So it was an equable equinox for me - but an inequitable and iniquitous budget - an absolutely shameful disgrace.
