And she's off!

I have only one anxiety about Abi leaving for university, and that is that it lives up to her expectations. On her side, there appears to be no anxiety whatsoever; she's simply excited about it!

She's spent at least the last two weeks getting ready, and consequently it took us less than five minutes to get the car loaded, this morning, after which we popped down to Botanica for breakfast: her boss had told her it was on the house, which was a nice gesture.

And then we set off for Sheffield, with Abi ably DJing, arriving bang on two o'clock to meet Milly for lunch. I kept thinking that as the time drew near, Abi might display some nerves but she was happy and relaxed, and we had a great lunch.

As you can imagine, the influx of several thousand students into a city is never going to result in fast flowing traffic but I reckon the university did a pretty good job in organising matters. Sure, there were queues but everything kept moving and we were able to park just outside Abi's halls.

With Milly's help, we moved everything up in a couple of trips, and then it was hugs all 'round and Abi was ready to be left to crack on.

I had a couple of text exchanges with her in the afternoon and evening, and she was full of beans, happy and excited. Phew!
