Birthday boy!

DAN IS TWENTY!

And so, today, we celebrated his successful navigation of his teens.

He and Abi had lunch with their mum, then went to meet Charlie in Lancaster for a drink in the early afternoon. Facilitated by a cancelled college lesson, I was already home when they got back, and we went down into Kirkby Lonsdale for a birthday drink.

The plan was that we'd just have a couple of drinks and then go home, so that Dan could get ready to go out with his friends, and Abi and I could get changed for her farewell meal at Number Nine.

As it was, though, we had such a good time that we stayed in town right up until it was time for Abi and I to go and eat. And we had a lovely meal. The food was good, as usual, and Abi is full of excitement to start university. It was an absolute joy to spend the evening with her.
