Final farewell

MONDAY

Today the nation said a final farewell to Queen Elizabeth II with a State Funeral and full military procession through central London. The lane outside our house was very quiet as everyone was glued to their TV screens. I saw only a single car go past in six hours.

There are a few tributes locally in the village. A floral tribute in the grounds of St Thomas's Church and a knitted topper on the postbox outside the local store (see extra).
