Blackden Brook
Sadly mizzly rain at the start of the day meant that our original limestone based plan had to be postponed for another day. A Ghyll scramble on gritstone seemed a better plan, so we headed out along the A57. A respectfully sombre drive which allowed us to listen to part of HRH's final service.
There were moments when it looked like it might get better, and this blip was taken in one of them. But mostly our ascent involved a lot of wet mud and gloom until the upper part of the Brook when we could get into the water course and make progress on good rock.
I've added an extra of our wonderful view from the top....
A great drive home despite very busy roads, always good to be reminded how much I enjoy the Peak
