Hotel Pams
We spent today seeing more of the sites in Perpignan. We went to the Musée Hyacinthe Rigaud this morning, which had a nice collection of Maillol sculptures and pottery by Picasso. Indonesian food for lunch at a place near the hotel, then a visit to the Hotel Pams, the home of the Bardou-Job family who made a fortune selling "Job" cigarette wrappers. The house was impressive -- you can see the main staircase here -- and I thought it was funny that they incorporated the name of the cigarette paper brand into many elements of it (stained glass windows, wrought iron railings, etc).
This evening, our friends J and C had us over for dinner to their lovely home. It was a really nice way to end our stay in Perpignan. We are off to Montpellier tomorrow.
