Clan Christie
Still that cold wind blows, and showers this morning. It did brighten, and a much calmer evening.
Weekend off, and slept well this morning. Headed into Lerwick after, and some walkies in town with Sammy. Back home and popped by Madeline's for a cuppa. Headed to the peat hill, and got mam and dad's peats home. More walkies with Sammy, then headed down the road to a family night.
A night with the Christie clan, which is a very rare occasion. Dave Ramsey (far left) has researched our great grand, Adam Christie, and has been up in Shetland telling us about new research and findings, also the day before his 154th birthday. Adam was born 18th Sept 1868, at Aith. 1901 he was admitted to Sunnyside mental hospital, due to depression, where he died in 1950. While there, he continued his poetry, also a song writer, sculptor, musician, painter, writter and fiddle maker. Great to see he's getting the recognition he deserves. Also been great to catch up with the Christie mob, some arrived from south. There was a talk by Dave, poetry by aunt Joan, and various playing music. Clan Christie in the Cunningsburgh Hall.
