Seventy

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon at a seventieth birthday celebration in Worcester. The Worcester Rowing Club venue was super, with a great view of the racecourse on one side, and the river on the other. Good food too. I did however point out to the birthday boy that next time it would be good to arrange it for a day when there was some horse racing on as well.

Pete was my best man, and I was his. We hadn't seen each other since 2013 when sadly we went to his elder daughter's funeral. His younger daughter is a musician, playing the cello in the blip, with her partner next to her on violin. There were some lovely grandchildren there too.

I spent a bit of time during the afternoon checking football scores with one of the other guests. He was a Stockport County season ticket holder. They drew, as did Pompey today. A 94th minute equalizer. Still unbeaten in the league this season.

In other news it is winter. Yesterday I put the heated car seat on and also had to put my coat on in the waiting room at the hospital. This morning the central heating came on.
