Friday: Early Morning View

We’re both pretty jet-lagged so were up and about by 4am.  The fact that we both had busy heads as a result of all our new impressions also played into that.  We spent some time sorting things out but still have some way to go.  This photo was not long after sunrise and is taken on the balcony off our bedroom - it was already very humid.  The slightly fuzzy quality is because the lens had steamed up - an error I’ll be careful not to repeat.  

First thing this morning a couple of members of the team came over to talk us through the some features of the house.  I then had a quick tour of the office before heading back to Belize City for a first meeting.  Afterwards, Humberto, the driver, took me to where, in his opinion, you get the best meat pies (a typically Belizean snack).  They were very good!

Back in Belmopan, K had been shopping and got in some supplies.  This afternoon we got her a mobile phone number as well as sorting out insurance for our newly purchased car.  It’s felt pretty successful for a first day.

We celebrated by going for a swim.  Reader, we have a pool……..
