Thursday: Welcome To………

Well, dear blippers, you have been most indulgent and patient, waiting to find out the identity of Unnamed Next Destination.  And, for those of you who were in the know, you have been most discreet.

My only photo of the day but, very appropriately, ‘Welcome To Belize’, our home for the next few years!

The flight from Miami to Belize City was smooth, if a little late on account of tropical storms in Miami.  We were met by my colleague, and our office driver, Humberto.  It’s an hour’s drive from Belize City to Belmopan, where we will be living.

The house is pretty big - we’ve already got lost a few times.  And we have staff, Lily and Dora - if truth be told, we were as anxious meeting them as they us.  

Initial impressions are very positive - Belmopan is small and quiet but there is lots to discover within a short distance.  It’s warm and tropical, with a high level of humidity.

We’re happily reunited with Barney who seems pretty chill, considering his journey.  Or maybe it’s relief.  We went out with my colleague and her husband for dinner to the very finely named ‘Corkers’.
